Julia Collins, Founder & CEO and Jen Berliner, General Manager of Moonshot and OSC Rising Star Chapter Members, take five to reflect on 5 simple questions. Enjoy!
OSC: What is your hometown?
JC: San Francisco, CA
JB: State College, PA
OSC: What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
JC: My nickname is Jake
JB: My brother and I have the same birthday, exactly 3 years apart!
OSC: What is it about the mission of your company that really ignites you?
JC: I’m so excited by the fact that people truly have the power to tackle climate change as long as we start now and work as hard as we possibly can.
JB: Everything — we’re building the change our food system needs, one tasty cracker at a time.
OSC: What’s a favorite childhood memory of food that you have?
JC: I used to make spicy pickles with my grandpa, using cucumbers and peppers grown in his garden. The hardest part was waiting for the pickles to be ready.
JB: Anything involving my mom’s amazing chocolate chip cookies — they’re like a warm hug!
OSC: What’s one thing that keeps you up at night?
JC: I worry about not working fast enough.
JB: The impact of climate change everywhere, and especially close to home in the beautiful Bay Area.
